Reuters news agency reported that at least eight Palestinians, mostly children, were killed in an attack in Nuseirat in central Gaza Strip – according to official sources in Gaza – in an Israeli strike that missed its target. According to the report, the IDF told the news agency that during an attempted assassination of an Islamic Jihad militant, a malfunction "caused the missile to fall tens of meters away from the target." Gaza officials claimed six children were killed and 17 others were wounded. The military noted that the incident is under investigation.
