Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Yuli Edelstein said in an interview at the Local Government Center conference that "the Haredim didn't come with any concrete proposal. I've worked for decades with Haredi MKs, colleagues who respect each other — and suddenly all these expressions and vulgar language. Deep down they know I'm right, that people should enlist, certainly those whose Torah is not their faith. They know that reservists cannot continue like this anymore, that I'm right that without sanctions and real oversight it won't work — and between us, they even told me so."
