Police and Shin Bet arrested Tahani Abu Samhan, 33, a teacher from the Bedouin diaspora, in June on suspicion of serious security offenses, maintaining contact with Iranian intelligence agents and carrying out missions under their direction. The investigation revealed that over the past year, Abu Samhan was in contact with Iranian intelligence officials and performed security missions for them. To maintain communication, she used a phone through which she stayed in contact with them and received assignments. As part of this, Abu Samhan was asked to carry out missions during Operation Iron Swords, including gathering intelligence on the Nevatim Air Force base. An indictment was filed against her for contact with a foreign agent and providing information to the enemy.
