If you are a parent whose children are begging you to buy them a Labubu doll you are not alone. These dolls are taking the world and Israel by storm, and have become the hot trend of the season.
It turns out that Saint West , the 9-year-old son of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West , is also among their fans .
On Tuesday, Saint took over his mother's phone, logged into her Instagram account, and asked users to follow his YouTube channel. Among the responses he received was one from Pop Mart, the maker of the Labubu dolls. They suggested: "Hey Saint, while you're on your mom's phone, can you reply to her DM's real fast." Saint took the opportunity to reply: "hey it's Saint i got my moms phone can i get some giant labubus and some rainbow teeth ones pls."
The cost of the dolls in question is hundreds of dollars, and the rarest ones were recently sold at auction for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Internet surfers found the conversation amusing, and wrote to the boy: "Saint, give your mother the phone back," and "Kim must be asleep. Saint, we've been through this before." Another wrote: "Not again! Saint is trying to get followers." Another noted: "And during a 'Skims' campaign? You'll get punished."
A few hours earlier, Kardashian shared stories of her new shapewear brand's campaign, and Saint's stories got mixed in with the campaign's. Needless to say, when she found out about his exploits, his stories were deleted.
This isn't the first time Saint has done something like this – Kim has already admitted that he went on her Instagram several times and posted things there without permission, and was punished for it: "I closed his account, because he has to ask me before he posts things."
The Labubu doll started out as a keychain that attached to handbags, and became a fashion trend (Rihanna and Dua Lipa were among the stars who fell under its spell). The great exposure the doll received on TikTok naturally brought it into the world of children.
Most of these dolls cost a few hundred shekels, and prices of course jumped once stores realized how popular they became. Along with the dolls, there are also a host of expensive accessories.
