Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his country supported the American strike on Iran and called for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy. "The world has long agreed that Iran must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons and we support action that prevents this," Albanese told reporters in Canberra. According to him, "The information was clear that Iran enriched uranium to 60%, and there is no other explanation for it reaching this level except participation in a program that is not concerned with civilian nuclear energy. If Iran had responded to the very reasonable requests submitted, including by the IAEA, then the circumstances would have been different."
