(קק"ל) – קצין שירות בתי הסוהר נמצא מת בביתו ביישוב השומרון בגבעון החדשה, צפונית-מערבית לירושלים, כך מסרה המשטרה ביום שני.
"שוטרים רבים הוזעקו ליישוב גבעון החדש לאחר שהתגלתה גופה בדירה שרופה", כתבה משטרת ישראל ב-X והוסיפה כי האירוע חשוד כבעל אופי פלילי.
הרשויות מצאו את גופתו השרופה של השוטר עם פצעי דקירה וסכין.
המשטרה בהודעה מאוחרת הדגישה כי "כל הכיוונים נבדקים" והוציאה צו איסור פרסום על פרסום פרטי החקירה וזהות החשודים האפשריים בפרשה.
למקום הוזעקו גם שוטרי השב"כ על מנת לחקור קשר אפשרי לטרור.
במרץ העביר ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו הנחיה דחופה לכל גופי הממשלה להכין את בתי הכלא לזרם של אלפי מחבלים שצפויים להיעצר השנה.
ההוראה באה לאחר שצה"ל והשב"כ הציגו במטה הצבאי בקריה בתל אביב את הערכתם כי בשנת 2024 יעצרו אלפי מחבלים ביהודה, שומרון ורצועת עזה, כך נמסר מלשכת ראש הממשלה.
